The New York Nothing: A vastly palpable void, appearing either randomly or subconsciously summoned at anytime in the 5 boroughs.  (V.) The active, terrible feeling that you?ve missed asomething, whilst also knowing you?ve mixed maybe nothing at all. A mixture of music, media and good ole fashioned storytelling, old friends and creative partners Storyteller Sarah Graalman and cabaret artist Xavier ?Mamma? Rice share the stage for the first time in two years,  sharing cautionary TALES OF THE NEW YORK NOTHING.

 

        Xavier ?Mamma? Rice is Brooklyn based cabaret artist whos works (Love Songs and Other BS, Mamma Rice N? Friends and Spring Cleaning) have been seen all over Minneapolis, Kansas City and NYC with sold out appearances at The Duplex, Public Assembly, The Laurie Beechman and most recently at 54 Below. Career highlights include appearing Rent alongside American Idol's Justin Guarini, the title role in Sweeney Todd at the Fourth Wall Theater, and Joey Murray?s (Broadway Dolls) The Hole with recording artist Ari Gold. Micheal Musto and the Village Voice hail ?Xavier Rice puts the  ?I? back in ?icon?.

     

    Sarah Graalman is a writer, make-up artist, and performer in NYC. Her stories and essays are published in This Land Press, where she's written extensively about her life as a transplanted Okie.  She's performed over 30 original pieces throughout NYC, and was dubbed by Time out New York as 'a story-teller extraordinaire. Sarah co-wrote and co-stars in Destructo Snack, USA with Theresa Buchheister, which has had successful runs at Dixon Place, Incubator Arts Project, and The Silent Barn.

As a make-up artist, her work has appeared on Bravo, BBC, BET, QVC, NY1, NBC, and in publications such as Cosmoplitan, New York Magazine, Paper, Rolling Stone, Glamour, and Martha Stewart Living.
