Moth favorite Brad Lawrence and two time FringeNYC award winner Cyndi Freeman have asked their friends from the New York storytelling community to share stories about people who inspire them; historical figures, family members & ancestors, mentors or that guy that your friend told you about, these are tales of legendary individuals; well known and unknown, the awesome people who make us want to be more awesome.

Co-producer / Storyteller: Cyndi Freeman is a two-time NY Fringe Festival award winning solo performer. She has been performing as a storyteller for 15 years, credits include: The Moth, The Liar Show, Adam Wade?s Super Stories, Seth Lind's Told, Risk, The BTK Band, Stripped Stories & And I Am Not Lying. Her solo shows have been presented in Boston, Amsterdam, Ireland, The UK, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Festival and NYC. Ms. Freeman is a recipient of a grand prize playwriting fellowship award from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Her newest solo show I Was A Sixth Grade Bigfoot will be presented this winter as part of the Frigid Festival. Currently she co-produces two ongoing shows, Nefarious Laboratory and Hotsy Totsy Burlesque both in NYC. Other credits include The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, Campus Comedy on HBO, and Compromising Situations on Showtime. She performs burlesque in NYC as Cherry Pitz

Co-producer / Host:  Brad Lawrence?s credits include, The Moth Mainstage,  Podcast and hosting for the Moth StorySLAMS, he is also the first storyteller to win back-to back Moth GrandSLAMS. In addition he is the host of Best In Show with Blaise Kearsley, co-producer and host of Nafarious Laboratory, he is both a member and featured storyteller with The BTK Band and a regular at such shows as The Liar Show, Adam Wade?s Super Stories, Seth Lind?s Told, The Soundtrack Series, The Risk Podcast, And I Am Not Lying and How I Learned. In addition, his solo show, Monsters In The Wood, was presented in the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival to critical acclaim. He has co-produced and performed in storytelling and variety shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, South By Southwest Interactive, and in conjunction with WBUR, USA Network, and Grant?s Whiskey. He also performs burlesque as Handsome Brad and works in burlesque productions throughout NYC including Epic Win Burlesque, Hotsy Totsy Burlesque and Kitty Nights Burlesque.

Jeff is a storyteller, standup, and the producer/performer behind 'And I Am Not Lying,' a variety show that combines stand-up, storytelling, burlesque, sideshow and music at UCB East on the second Friday of every month at UCB East. He has appeared on 'This American Life,' The Moth's podcast, and won a Moth GrandSLAM in New York, and was recently published on the Paris Review's blog.

Jim is the transportation reporter for WNYC. He has also told stories on This American Life, Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen and The Moth podcast. He's been a reporter for The New York Times; professor of journalism at NYU; and director of research for the Center for an Urban Future, a policy think tank. He's also the author of two biographies: Dorothy Day: With Love For The Poor, and Disarmed & Dangerous: The Radical Lives and Times of Daniel and Philip Berrigan.

Amy Pascale - Author of Joss Whedon: The Biography

(Writer Performer) is the author of Joss Whedon: The Biography (2014), and has worked in on-air and online media for over sixteen years. She is currently the Director of Strategy in MTV's On-Air Promos department, where she also gets to write the words that come out of the mouths of Teen Wolves, Banshees, and Awkward kids trying to make it through high school. She co-founded and edits the offbeat online magazine -- which, along with her day job, is her excuse for watching as much television as she does (a lot).
