What's Her History?
WHAT'S HER HISTORY? Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT, OR WHAT YOU WILL adapted to a Solo deep-dive into VIOLA'S journey of disguise. One woman inhabits HER-story and PLAYS all the parts she needs to--to survive! "Disguise I see thou art a wickedness!" When a shipwreck leaves VIOLA believing she'll never see her twin brother again and washed ashore a land unknown to her--to survive it seems it's best to be disguised. But how far can concealment help her before her own disguise becomes her enemy! "What will become of this?" Viola, disguised as a young man, falls in love with her Master who's in love with a Lady who's in love with Viola's disguise! THEN her Master falls in love with her despite the disguise, but who's that? "How will this fadge?" A love triangle times two! A history erased or a her-story restored? A play within a play within a play! "O Time, thou must untangle this, not I./ It is too hard a knot for me t'untie!"
**All in attendance must adhere to the COVID guidelines that apply to this show. Vaccines will be required for all audience members, staff, and performers. You can prove your vaccination status (two weeks past final dose by show day) using your vaccine card or your Excelsior App. We do not accept photos of vaccine cards. Masks are welcome and encouraged. We will be conducting contact tracing at the door. We will be seating at limited capacity with space between parties. Our theaters are equipped with a ventilation system capable of completely replacing the air in the space every ten minutes. Surfaces are sanitized regularly.**
