Since our founding in 1998, FRIGID New York’s mission has been to provide both emerging and established artists the opportunity to create and produce original work without limit to content, form, or style, and to amplify their diverse voices. In order to fulfill that mission, we need artists like you! We are always excited to work with new creators and can’t wait to hear about your next project.

Our co-productions are performances produced in collaboration with FRIGID New York and offer New York City artists a fairly unique opportunity to stage their work with minimal up-front cost. We select these shows based on our artistic interest in your project, if it seems well-suited to our space, and how it alines with FRIGID’s goals and vision. Our co-productions are almost exclusively new works, though we will consider previously published or classic pieces that take a new or exciting perspective. We accept co-production emails via the forms listed below.

Co-production ticket sales are split between the producer and FRIGID New York, with varying splits based on the type of show. We provide our co-productions with ticketing, marketing support, and either a tech or front of house/box office staff member. FRIGID can provide an additional staff member for $75 per performance. In addition to traditional in person performances, we are now equipped to live stream, giving you access to a world-wide audience.

Generally, the house keeps first $200 and then it’s a 50/50 split after that. There is no application fee associated with a coproduction request (with the exception of certain festivals) and, accordingly, we are not committing to providing a response to your application. If we find your application interesting and/or viable we will email you and request more information or a meeting. If you don’t hear back from us about a co-production, we welcome you to come in as a rental. Many of our co-productions are with companies we originally met as renters.

Because New York City’s venues vary widely, we highly recommend that you make an appointment to view the venue you’re interested in to make sure it’s right for your project. Spacing viewings for either venue can be scheduled here on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3pm to 6pm. Viewings will be scheduled around rehearsals and other bookings.

Our co-productions fall into four main categories: festivals, theatrical runs, monthlies, and one-off performances.

→ Our festivals take place throughout the year and cover a wide range of themes and works. You can learn more about our festivals here and see if any of them might be a good fit for your project.

→ If you’re interesting in doing a theatrical run (performances with dates spanning more than one week), we are booking runs for the spring and summer. Fill out this form to get started.

→ We are currently seeking submissions for on-going monthly productions! Our monthly shows repeat based on day of the week (e.g. first Wednesdays), generally on weeknights. We’ve had a wide range of monthly shows over the years and are always open hearing about something new. If you’re interested in producing a monthly show, please fill out this form.

→ We are also seeking one-off shows on an on-going basis! One-offs are one to three performance productions of all kinds. If you think your project would work in our space and is in line with our artistic interests, we want to hear about it. Fill out this form to get started.

→ We currently have a special call open for weekend midnight shows! Have something high energy and and engaging? Got a cult following? Sounds a great midnight show to us! Tell us about it with this form.
