Stroke of Genius: Pantomime Masturbation Throughout Performing Arts History

This professor takes "jacking around" very seriously. Dr. Walter Winkworth-Pérez has devoted his academic career to the study and preservation of a highly specialized art form. His research has made him the world's foremost expert on pantomime masturbation conventions dating back to ancient Greece.

Attendees of this prestigious multi-media lecture series will see techniques and regional styles of comedic simulated self-pleasure in their correct historical contexts. Following last semester's workshop, "All in the Wrist: Vaudeville Jack Practicum," this syllabus expands its focus on early film. Experience an in-depth study of the mysterious genius who immortalized timeless theatrical

skills on the 1920s silver screen: the man who became the sultan of sexual subterfuge, the legendary Spankin' Shyster.

- Official curated selection, Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival “FESTN4” 2024

- Creative Loafing Tampa Staff Pick Award, 2023. "[T]he longest, most elaborate dick joke Tampa Bay has ever seen, and if that’s not worthy of an award, we don’t know what is."

- “‘Stroke of Genius’ will strike a happily laughable chord with you.” - Orlando Sentinel

- "[A]n inspiring story about stiffening your resolve to pursue your solitary passion [...] The intellectually stimulating script is overstuffed with penile puns, but also makes a surprisingly lucid case for preserving bawdy art." - Orlando Weekly

- “Stroke of Genius is a must-see” - The Orlando Performer

The performance on April 8th will have a "masks strongly suggested" policy, and masks will be available at the door.
