Emil Amok: Lost NPR Host, Wiley Filipino, Vegan Transdad

Emil Guillermo goes amok as he considers all things in a comic memoir on being American Filipino. Sex is everything, from his father’s colonized past, NPR, Harvard and finding out the true nature of his offspring’s gender identity. One audience member said it was like John Leguizamo’s “Latin History for Morons” only uniquely American Filipino.

What people are saying about Emil Amok’s monologues:

"Enjoy trying to keep pace with Guillermo's brilliant mind...Funny, Poignant." - Orlando Weekly

"Comical and often profound observations." - Manhattan Digest

"Charismatic." - DC Metro Theatre Arts

"A lovely storyteller." - Mike Daisey

A part of the show’s profits will benefit the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF) celebrating 50 years of civil rights activism.

The performance on April 8th will have a "masks strongly suggested" policy, and masks will be available at the door.
