New York City Fringe Application
Hello and thank you for your interest in the New York City Fringe 2024! This is FRIGID’s biggest festival and this year it’s going to be bigger than ever so we’re very excited to see your application! This is an unjuried festival and participants will be chosen on both a first come first served and lottery basis, with the first seven applications received for each venue being automatically accepted and the rest being drawn based on venue. You can put your name down for all three venues or just one. We will accept 15 shows per venue. This year, will be hosting 45 shows across three venues: Under St Marks, The Wild Project, and the 14th St Y. New York City Fringe will run Wednesday, April 3rd to Sunday April 21st, 2024.
The festival is open to all kinds of performances, including, but not limited to, plays, comedy, musicals, storytelling, improv, dance, and clowning. This year we are offering our standard 60-minute slots as well as a limited number of 90-minute slots. While this is an unjuried festival, there are certain restrictions laid out in the festival handbook. These primarily pertain to safety (i.e. no fires) or to ensuring a smooth festival and an environment suitable for everyone (i.e. no painting the stage). We will review applications to ensure they are in line with festival policies and safety.
Before you begin your application, please read the festival handbook. This should answer any questions you have about the festival and covers important dates, space usage, festival policies and guidelines, technical information, and more.
The application goes live on September 23rd at 12:00pm New York time and will remain open until October 31st at 12:00pm New York time.
Please proof read your responses before submitting. FRIGID will reproduce data EXACTLY as it is entered here; we do NOT correct improper capitals or misspellings. Our assumption is that you have included such anomalies as a marketing or artistic choice.
There is a $40, non-refundable application fee that will be invoiced to the producer using the contact information provided.

If you’re interested in doing a site-specific or bring-your-own-(non-traditional)-venue performance, there will be a different application available soon for those shows. The application above is for producers looking to work in one of our theatrical venues (Under St Marks, The Wild Project, and the 14th St Y). Thank you again for your interest in the festival; we look forward to learning about your show!
