Pete and Me: A non-depressing look at autism and family

In his new show, “Pete and Me,” Graham Kay uses levity to tell the story of life with an autistic brother. Now in his 40s, Graham explores their relationship from childhood through today - how it has changed and how, in many ways, it has stayed the same. Daily calls pretending to be Bert and Ernie, Graham getting arrested and his brother hanging up on the cops, and what it was like getting kicked out of restaurants as a family. At times silly, others serious —we learn how these moments have changed Graham's comedy career, romantic relationships and how he interacts with friends. Graham uses the stage as catharsis to contemplate the uncertainty of his future as part-comedian, part-caretaker. Underneath heartfelt anecdotes and witty punchlines, Graham is ultimately confronting his life’s biggest fears. About Graham Kay Graham Kay is a headlining stand-up comedian who tours throughout North America. Born in Ottowa, Canada and now based in Brooklyn NY, Graham has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with Steven Colbert. He hosts an autism awareness podcast and his stand up can be heard regularly on Sirius XM Radio. FYE Fundraiser

Support us and support our community! As with most arts organizations across the nation, these last three fiscal years have been rough for FRIGID. As hard as it was to be thrown into the shutdown, coming out has proved more challenging still.Operating this year has again left us with a deficit as did the last couple of fiscal years, for obvious reasons. This will put us at a third consecutive year of deficits and, while the reason is clear and understandable, it still puts us in danger of losing some funding in the next cycle. We need your help to make that not happen. Please help us by pre-purchasing tickets this fall to be given to underserved populations here in NYC through GOLES (Good Old Lower East Side), who hekp to enrich the lives of our neighbors who have less.As with most of our tickets these days, the ticket price here is $25 with a sliding scale. That means for each purchase, regardless of the dollar amount you pay on our sliding scale, we will donate one ticket to one of our future shows, regardless of the face value ticket price. These tickets will only be considered spent when they are actually used, so if we give an organization 20 tickets and only 4 people show up then only 4 tickets from this pot will have been used and the rest will still be available for donation.

Hamlet: La Telenovela

Hamlet couldn't possibly get more dramatic… or could it? Hamlet couldn't possibly be funny...or could it? Are Shakespeare and Telenovelas a match made in heaven? With Hamlet: La Telenovela audiences will be able to experience Hamlet like never before, with an adaptation that heightens the melodrama innate in the story and explores it under a farcical and comedic lens. We invite the public to open their arms to the extremely cathartic guilty pleasure that only Telenovelas (soap operas) can give. In Spanish with English subtitles. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the subtitles will be legible in the livestream presentation.
